A Deal With The Millionaire

Chapter 36

” Huh? ” Layla asked unsure of what she heard and he snapped out of his thoughts.

” Sorry, I meant yes, that’s all ” He muttered and she nodding before walking away.

Shane bit his lips slowly, watching her leave.

” I’m here ” Alec announced suddenly sitting on the seat available in front of Shane. Shane only nodded. Alec raised his brows and moved closer to Shane’s face, studying his expression.

” What? ” Shane raised his brows, moving his face away. ” Why are you blushing? ” He asked and suprised Shane raised his brows in confusion. ” What? ” Shane asked almost in a whisper.

” Don’t tell me you two.. kissed ” Alec added, gesturing to Layla who was just coming. Shane cleared his throat and arranged his butt on his seat properly, ignoring Alec’s question and turning to Layla who was just coming.

” Here ” Layla said, dropping their orders. Shane had also order a cup of coffee for Alec too. ” Thanks ” Shane was the first to say as he grabbed the cup’s handle.

” Thanks ” Alec also muttered. Layla nodded with a little smile before walking away.

” It seems they would be coming here often now ” Mirah said to Layla immediately she walked back to her seat. ” Yeah I guess ” Layla muttered and then turned properly to Mirah, ready to tell her about what she had in mind.

” What? ” Mirah asked when she got the hint that Layla was holding back to say something. ” I wanna leave ” She muttered and Mirah raised her brows. ” Leave how? ” Mirah asked, shifting her seat closer to Layla’s.

” I wanna resign here. I really need to stop seeing Shane, I have to avoid him if I want everything to go as planned else I might finally do what I’m not supposed to do. It’s best I try every possible means to avoid it now ” She muttered and Mirah nodded supportively.

” Alright, I will support everything you do, but do I also have to leave too? ” She asked and Layla shook her head.

” No, you don’t have to. The pay here is good, we might not get any other good offer like this. You should stay while I just resign. I might find a good job elsewhere, but for now I should really avoid seeing Shane ” She explained and Mirah nodded.

” Okay then, so when are you informing Mr Cyrus? ” Mirah asked. ” Today, at the end of today’s shift ” Layla muttered and with a sigh.

” I’m really sorry you have to do this ” Mirah said seriously but it sounded funny to Layla’s ears. ” Come on, how are you affected?, It’s all my fault for falling helplessly even when I’m aware of the real fact that we can’t be together ” Layla blurted out without knowing. She suddenly gasped and covered her mouth with her palms in shock. She turned to Mirah who was so having that shocking look on.

” Did you… just say.. ”

” It was mistake ” Layla cut in abruptly and walked away immediately in regret.

She hasn’t really confirmed if she even have feelings for Shane and she had went ahead to say that. ” Gosh ” She muttered and bit her lips.

” So, you resigned already? ” Mirah asked Layla who was just coming in. ” Yeah ” Layla replied, taking off her shoes as she landed on the couch tiredly.

” He didn’t ask for your reason? ” Mirah asked suspiciously. ” He did. But I told him a believable lie and.. he fell for it ” Layla replied. ” Shane’s going to be really shocked when he find out ” Mirah muttered as Layla got on her feet, with her shoes on her hands.

” But it’s partially his fault right? ” Layla replied, more like a question but she wasn’t expecting an answer from Mirah as she walked away, deeper into their room.Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

” Well, Maybe it is ” Mirah replied to herself.

” You’re still thinking about her? ” Alec asked Shane who had suddenly got lost in his thoughts. He can’t help but think about her every minute and it’s beginning to be a worry. ” I can’t help it ” Shane muttered truthfully.

” Isn’t that a sign that you feel something for her? ” Alec asked knowingly but he still needed to hear it from Shane’s mouth.

” No it’s not ” Shane replied even though, he’s not sure of his answer. He’s just not sure yet if he really feels a thing for Layla. It’s confusing and that alone is making him worried.

He would have loved if he wasn’t really falling for Layla without knowing, that would have been the best but it seems no matter how he’s trying to avoid it, he can’t. It’s all seeming fruitless. The fact that Layla wouldn’t talk to him and is avoiding him is only doing nothing but worsening the whole situation.

It’s only making him crave for her more. It’s not helping at all. He had fallen helplessly without knowing and is only trying to deny the fact or ensure that he really wasn’t falling for her.

” What about Brielle? ” Alec suddenly asked and Shane raised his head with a raised brow. ” What about her? ” He asked.

” What if she suddenly comes back and finds out her husband is going crazy over her replacement?, What would you do then?, How do you think she would feel now? ” Alec asked and his questions did a great job in disrupting his thoughts.

He couldn’t think properly anymore. He couldn’t seem to find an answer to his demanding questions.

He’s well aware that Alec is right with his words. How would Brielle feel when she finds out?, What would he do?, That’s one of the factor that’s serving as an obstruction. It’s the main reason why he’s trying to avoid it. And it’s the same with Layla, she wouldn’t stop thinking about those factors. How would Brielle feel?

” Can’t believe we’re here again! ” Alec teased jokingly but Shane wasn’t really in the mood for that. All he wanted was to see Layla. He couldn’t concentrate at work earlier today, he wouldn’t stop thinking about her no matter how hard he tried to stop, h couldn’t help it.

They pushed the door open and a server rushed to them like the other day. ” Please have your seat ” Mitch directed them to their usual and reserved seat with a big smile on. She was glad, at least no Layla to take these august guests away from her.

She watched as they sat down and she bowed wholeheartedly. ” Welcome to Mocha Coffee Shop. What would you like sires? ” She asked with a big smile plastered on her face.

” Where’s Layla? ” Shane didn’t waste time in asking. A knowing smirk played on Mitch’s lips but she didn’t waste time in replacing it with a smile since she’s sure she’s serving them anyways.

” She’s not here sir and wouldn’t be here anymore ” She said, happiness glaring on her face but the duo were confused.

” Sorry?.. ” Alec asked for clarification. ” She resigned just yesterday sir ” Mitch said still retaining that smile on her face.

” You can leave, call us Mirah instead ” Alec said, looking at Shane who also had the same suprised look on his face and it’s the same for him. He’s damn shocked. It’s unexpected. Why would she suddenly leave?

Mitch’s smile got replaced when she finally processed what Alec had just told her. ” I should… I should call… Mirah instead ” She asked unbelievably and Alec nodded.

” Oh ” She muttered and bowed a little before walking away, obviously boiling in anger.

” She left? ” Shane muttered in suprise. ” I’m as shocked as you are ” Alec replied. ” But why? ” Shane asked confusedly. ” I don’t know, we should ask Mirah ” He said and almost immediately Mirah appeared with a smile playing on her face.

” Welcome. What would you two like? ” She asked cheerfully.

” Layla.. where’s she? ” Shane asked instead, ignoring her question.

” Oh ” Mirah muttered, getting his point. ” Someone might have informed him ” She thought.

” She left. She resigned just yesterday ” She replied, saying the same thing as Mitch.

” Why? ” Shane asked, confusion glaring on his face. ” It’s not for me to say sir. It would be best if you ask her personally ” She replied, trying her best to make sure she wasn’t sounding rude.

” Oh ” Shane replied dejectedly. He’s sure if he would ask Shane, she might not give him the reply he wants.

” Where’s she? ” He suddenly asked. ” Home ” Mirah muttered with a raised brow.
