Betrothed To The Mafia Lord

Chapter 405

Chapter 405

Luca’s pov

“How much is it?”

Luca’s pov

“How much is it?”

“It’s two fifty thousand dollars, sir.” The man responded, head tilting forward as he responded. I

regarded the piece of bracelet once again, picking it off the soft pillow it’s currently laid in and taking

another close look at it.

I had left the office about thirty minutes ago, but had decided to make a quick stop here, in order to get

something for Sofia.

This particular bracelet was the first thing to catch my eyes, and I knew I had to get it for her

immediately, because I knew it would look so good on her. It was silver in color, and the stones on the

bracelet twinkled in the bright light as I turned it around.

“Does it have a matching earring? Or something to match it with.” I asked and the man hastily nodded

before saying something to the three attendants standing behind him, who all scrambled around in the

next moment.

They returned sometime later with a pair of earring and a very thin necklace, and I had them package

everything together. It all cost over seven hundred thousand dollars altogether, and it was worth every

single penny.

On getting back into the car, I signaled to the driver and then I made the partition come in between us. I

relaxed into my seat, letting the cool air from the air conditioner wash over me.

Before I existed the office, James made sure to tease the fuck out of me, and I knew I had it coming

before he even began.

He knew damn well that I returned home as late as possible when things hadn't been completely good

between Sofia and I. But, now that things are good once again, I’m returning home as early as

possible, which is saying a whole lot about how far gone I indeed am.

“You had better make sure you come into the office tomorrow, we have a whole lot to do.” James had

barked out around a snicker and I had flipped him off while shrugging my suit jacket on.

“Fuck you, James.”

“I’d pass.” James snickered and I rolled my eyes, reaching a hand out to shake his shoulder a little.

“Of course you’d pass, since you now have a girl.” I drawled out. James, who hadn’t been expecting to

take it down that lane, spluttered a little before pulling away from my grip.

“Shut up.” He muttered and I scoffed around an eyeroll.

“Oh, yeah? Are you saying you aren’t down bad at all?” I demanded and James rolled his eyes.

“I’m not having this conversation with you right now.” James responded and I shoved him backwards

with a hand on his middle of his chest.

“Of course you aren’t.” I scoffed out, and after a few back and forth, we bid each other a good night.

Before leaving, I made sure to tell him one last thing.

“I won’t be able to wait that long without asking you about her. I’m very curious, especially after finding

out she’s related to those asshole entitled pricks. Make sure to dig really deep into it so we can, y'know,

talk about it.”

~~~
As the car pulled into the compound, I felt something akin to excitement build up in my chest. I couldn’t
wait to see her pretty face, to see her big, cute eyes. I couldn’t wait to take her in my arms and hold her
against me.
As the car pulled to a stop, I stepped out of the car before the driver could get to it, shrugging my suit RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
over my left shoulders and inserting the tiny box of diamonds into my pocket, and then I slammed the
door shut.
“It’s an early day tomorrow, be on time.” I gruffed out, tapping his shoulders a little as I walked past him,
heading towards the house.
My phone rang and I glanced down at it, looking down at the screen and feeling an irritated feeling
settle in my chest as I noticed who it was.
It was my cousin.
One of the asshole ones.
I hadn’t even remembered when I gave him my private number. With a scowl, I declined the call and
shoved the phone into my pocket.
As I drew closer to the house, something caught my eyes, making me come to an instant standstill, and
next, my eyes filled with a little shock as I regarded the scene currently unfolding before me.
It was Sofia… and Ryan?
It was Sofia, and Ryan, one of her two personal guards.
They were both walking side by side, and my lips immediately went into a thin line. A little gap was
between them, but that did nothing to appease me.
Sofia was dressed in a little white skirt that revealed the creamy expanse of her thighs, stopping a few
inches atop her knees. The top she had on was long sleeves, but it was a baggy crop one, revealing
the lower part of her stomach and the tiny curve of her waist.
I knew I shouldn’t be feeling this right now, because all my gist ga were clearly not dumb enough to
look at what’s mine in that kind of way. But, I couldn’t help the ugly head of jealousy that reared its
head in the middle of my chest.
My hands clenched tight beside me, just as Sofia looked straight ahead and noticed my presence.
Sofia closed the distance between us, as a bright smile took over her face. It was like a switch got
flipped in that moment, because as she flew into my arms, the burning anger that had begun to build in
my chest, came to an instant standstill.
I wrapped my right arm around her waist, pulling her thigh against me, but my eyes never left Ryan‘s
face. Ryan’s face was fixed in a blank expression, but his eyes were lowered.
Despite how much I tried, I couldn’t stop myself from scowling at him.
As he drew closer to Sofia and I, with his hands clasped behind him, he stopped a few feet away and
bowed his head robotically.
“Good evening, Master.” His voice was low as he spoke. I nodded at him, not bothering to say a thing in
response as I glanced down at Sofia who was staring at me with her twinkling eyes, a smile dancing
across her lips
“What are you doing out here with your guard?” I asked, liking how calm my voice sounded as I spoke,
because internally, my voice was anything but that. Instead, it was gruff with possessiveness.
