Chapter 738
Nina heard labored breathing, followed by Scott's voice, "I think I'm close, but I'm not sure what will happen next. I can't take the phone with me. No one entering can bring a phone. If discovered, it would be disastrous. I hope whoever finds this phone can call one of the contacts to let them know I'm alive. I'm doing this not just for her, but for all those who have been hurt. Thank you!"
That was all. Just one message.
"He will be safe. Things aren't as bad as they seem and everything will be okay," Nina whispered to herself, gripping the phone tightly.
She thanked the caller and hung up, but her heart was still uneasy. She knew nothing about the organization Scott was infiltrating.
If he went in, could he come out?
How would she explain this to his parents?
Nina wished she could go immediately, but she was still in recovery and hadn't learned self-defense yet. Going now would only hinder. Late at night, Nash came to see Nina. He timed his visit for when she would be asleep. Moving quietly, he just wanted to see her.
He entered, leaving the curtains open to let the moonlight highlight Nina's pale skin. Standing by the bed, Nash gazed at her with deep affection, unmoving for a long time. Finally, he reached out to touch her face. As soon as his hand brushed her skin, Nina grabbed his hand and opened her eyes. Nash was surprised to see she was not asleep. "Why are you here at this hour?" Nina looked at him. "Why have you been standing there so long?"
"I thought you were asleep and didn't want to wake you," Nash replied softly.
Nina gripped his hand tightly. "I got a call from Scott today, but it wasn't him. It was a recording saying he was going to that organization. It's been so long with no word. Could he be in danger?" She desperately needed someone to assure her that Scott was safe, so she could stop worrying.
Nash asked, "Is that why you can't sleep?"
Nina was anxious and said, "Every time I close my eyes, I imagine him covered in blood. I can't sleep at all."
Nash furrowed his brows slightly and touched her cold cheek. "Don't be too tense. Sometimes, no news is the best news."
"That's the only thing that can
comfort me right now, to give me some hope," she said, but it was not enough. She looked at Nash, helplessly asking, "Do you have any way to find out?"
Nash replied, "I've sent people there. I'll let you know if there's any news. Now, you should try to sleep."
"You've sent people..." Nina tried to
comfort herself. "But have they
found the organization yet? Could there be undercover agents who can't reveal anything yet? Can they look for Scott? I'm really worried. He's probably never experienced such hardship."
"I know," Nash said. "You're too tense. Scott will be fine."Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Nash continued, "You should sleep now."
Nina, still holding Nash's sleeve, asked, "Do you have to go? Can you hold me?"
Nash hesitated, sensing her need for support.
"I don't know what to do," Nina said softly. "I feel so alone. I can't even see the baby, and I'm so worried." Everything was uncertain.
She was waiting and hoping, but the outcome was unknown.
She felt lost and needed someone to lean on.
She wanted Nash to give her the courage.
Seeing her helplessness, Nash's heart softened. He lay down beside her and let her rest her head on his arm. "Scott is a good person," he said.
