CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 739

Nina felt a bit reassured. "Of course he's a good person."

"I also wish someone could be by your side," Nash said softly.

Nina stiffened and looked up at him. "What do you mean by that?"

Nash gently patted her back. "Just trying to comfort you so you can sleep."

"Is this how you comfort someone? You never used to be like this. Lately, you've been distant with me," she replied.

Her words were striking a chord with Nash, leaving him uncertain whether to keep his distance or come closer.

He instinctively tightened his hold on her. "I'm afraid of upsetting you or making you dislike me."

Nina realized she felt a deep sense of loss, despite everyone still being there. It was as if no one was truly by her side. She did not want to lose anyone else.

She held onto Nash's waist. "What should I do? Am I getting sick again? It feels like something's wrong, like I've lost everything, and no one is around."

The baby wasn't with her, Scott wasn't there, and even Wilfred seemed absent. She felt deeply unsettled.

Nash clenched his fists, turned to face her, and pulled her into his arms. Resting his chin on her head, he said, "I'm still here. I'll always be here. No matter where I am, my heart will never leave you." "Really?" Nina was uncertain, sensing that Nash might not always be truthful.

Nash reassured her. "I've never wanted to deceive you. I just want you to live well."

Nina buried her face in his chest, almost in tears. "When I woke up, everything felt strange. I couldn't believe I wasn't dead. I wonder if heaven took pity on me. I just don't know how long I have left. Will I be able to see our baby, Nash?"

"You will," Nash answered firmly. "You definitely will."

"That's good." Nina cried and laughed at the same time. "I just want everyone I care about to be safe and sound."

Time passed slowly. Nina stayed awake until dawn, finally succumbing to sleep out of sheer exhaustion. Nash stayed with her until morning.

He couldn't sleep, only getting up when Nina was deeply asleep. He gently removed her hand from his waist, tucked her in, and then quietly left.

People were waiting outside. As he exited, they followed him.

"Lawyer Ben Lucas called, asking if you still wanted to find that girl. It might help you."

Nash replied, "No need. I already know the answer." He glanced back at Nina's door before looking away with a calm expression.

Several days later, Nina could not hold back any longer. She was supposed to stay inside for the recovery period, but she was desperate to see the baby.

No matter how much she asked, no one would give her any news about the baby, not even a photo. She was suspicious but also scared to consider the worst-case scenario.

just to catch a glimpse from afaret

She concealed her intentions from the nurse and followed the signs to where the babies were kept.

She saw a glass window through which she could see inside. Seeing the infants in their incubators, her face naturally lit up with a maternal smile.

A nurse conducting routine checks

came out, and Nina could not help but ask "Nurse, where is my baby? Can you show me? Just tell me the number of the incubator, and I'll look from a distance."

The nurse looked at Nina and asked, "May I have your name?"

"Nina, my name is Nina Walker!" she replied quickly.

The nurse checked her records and told her, "There's no record of your name here. Your baby isn't here."
