Love At The Wrong Table

Love at the 1936

Xarri requested, “I wish the hidden Summerton family would return the

Dragon Tome to us. I need it to prove my late father’s innocence and give

him justice.”

“Another person after the Dragon Tome, eh?” Finley didn’t reveal the Dragon

Tome had been retrieved. He simply smiled and said, “Sure! Defeat me and I’ll

tell you its whereabouts.”

“Mr. Ford, I’ll fight you then.” Xarri wasn’t as proud as Gwain. Knowing the fight

was inevitable, he lunged at Finley.

He gained the upper hand as he struck. Even though his moves weren’t as

fancy as Gwain’s, they were practical. Those ordinary moves left the

expected effect as Gwain’s fancy moves on Finley.

“That’s impressive!” Surprised, Finley struggled to defend himself.

Xarri also marveled at Finley’s strength. Judging from their surroundings, he

was certain that Finley had fought somebody in a fierce battle earlier and

was exhausted. Otherwise, he doubted he would have gained the

advantage.

After approximately thirty exchanges, Finley decided to go all out. He was

even more serious than when he fought Gwain earlier.

Despite exerting all his efforts, he finds it impossible for Xarri to be defeated in

their fiftieth exchange.

“You’re an amazing fighter.” Finley had to compliment the young man. After

that, he announced, “Kid, we should stop now. You’re a formidable opponent.

The tome is yours now.”

Bang!

After exchanging another blow, the two retreated.

Quell was amazed. The hidden Summerton family is full of surprises! I

thought Xarri was unbeatable, yet the old man and he were tied in the battle.

“The Lannister family is full of geniuses. You indeed live up to your title of the

top martial arts family,” Finley chuckled before fishing out a scripture from his

pocket and tossed it at Xarri,

It looked exactly the same as the one before.

The siblings studied it for a while and came to the same conclusion as

Gwain’s group. They believed it was the original scripture.

“Now that you have the scripture, please leave.” At that, the stone door on the

other side of the hall opened. They must descend the mountain with a new

path.

Despite Xarri’s wisdom, he couldn’t have known two groups had left with the

scripture before him. He simply nodded at Finley and turned around to

depart.

At that moment, Quell’s competitiveness prompted her to hang back and

ask, “Mr. Ford, your comments earlier bothered me. Have you fought with

Gwain before?”

“Yes,” Finley admitted with a smile.

“In that case, who is stronger? Gwain or Xarri?” She challenged him.

“You’ll have to find out the answer yourself. After learning your story, I’m sure

you two cousins will have a showdown sooner or later!” Finley teased with a

chuckle.

“Let’s go, Quell!” Xarri called out again.

She finally turned on her heel and followed him out the hall.

“Xarri, Gwain is no match for you,” she stated as the pair descended the

mountain.

“What makes you think so?” he asked.

“First of all, he’s younger than you. Moreover, you have beaten him up once

when you were kids.” She thought it was obvious. Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

He smiled and shrugged off her comments. “I’m two years older than him, so

it’s normal if he was weaker than me when we were young. Besides, I also

noticed his talent back then. He shouldn’t be weaker than me,”

“Still, he has never fought for survival on Dark Night Islands for years like you.”

She attempted to convince him. “Also, he probably didn’t defeat the old man.

Otherwise, he would have taken the scripture with him and left us nothing.”

Xarri cast her a casual smile. He agreed with her theory, but a strange feeling

dwelled in his mind. It’s easier than I thought…

After seeing off three groups of visitors, Finley remained in the stone hall to

train.

The next day, his eyes snapped open as he sensed another group of visitors

approaching.

There wasn’t anybody to stop the visitors today. The two halted right before

the stone door.

Gwan is No Match for You

It was none other than Emmanuel and Sage.

They took minimal effort to arrive at their destination. Xarri knew Emmanuel

would come here in search of Roselynn, so he deliberately left marks along

the way.

The newcomers discovered that the stone doors were opened, sharing

Gwain’s group’s question. There are a lot of traps in the stone hall, but we

avoided all of them on our way up here. Is that even possible?
