Chapter 184: Why Are We Leaving?
Chapter 184: Why Are We Leaving?
Joseph had bent out of shape after being ignored by Hayden all these days.
After all these years, this was the first time when Joseph couldn’t control himself. He knew that Hayden was suffering now, and him doing this would cause an irreparable emotional rift. But he still couldn’t restrain himself.
It was supposed to be sweet and affectionate for them, but anger had taken over him.
Hayden’s eyes were red as she stared at Joseph. There were bruises on her hands, and her wrists were red and swollen for being pressed by Joseph.
Hayden blacked out after a while.
Tears from the corners of her eyes ran down her cheeks, falling into the icy bathtub.
Joseph was flustered, seeing Hayden’s despair look.
The rage inside him was all gone at that very moment.
He was nearly at a loss, and he then carried her to the bed after a while. He heard a dull sound as he covered her up, “Is this what you want? Are you happy now?”
He was holding the quilt, and he trembled for a second. And he then covered it up to her shoulders.
“Don’t touch me.”
Hayden had given Joseph a disgusted look without even touching her face, “Fuck off.”
Her face was bloodless as she gritted her teeth to say it out. And her whole body was cold.
She couldn’t imagine the man, whom she thought being her destined one, would force her to do such a thing.
Joseph was chagrined and went silent for a while. He then finally left the room without saying anything.
It was irreparable for such a thing to happen. Their relationship wounds wouldn’t heal by just a few words as he was wrong for being too mean. But he couldn’t even say a sorry at this very moment.
The room was silent after Joseph left.
A dim yellow light was still turned on when Joseph left. The bedroom door was half-open, and lights were coming in from the outside, making it seem less lonely.
Hayden was heartbroken, and she was in pain. And the pain was like a reminder of Joseph’s cruelty just now.
Since they didn’t love anymore, why not letting go of each other.
She had made up her mind and intended to leave overnight.
Stella Downey was woken up from her sleep by Hayden, rubbing her eyes. She sat on the bed, looking at the familiar figure in the dark, “Mommy.”
“Stella, put on your clothes and come with mommy.”
Stella was in a daze and asked in a hoarse voice, “Mommy, where are we going?”
“Back home.”
Hayden put the clothes on Stella and picked her up from the bed. As they were about to leave, she saw someone on the other bed sat up, looking at her. He seemed to have felt her depression, so he behaved well and kept silent.
“Noah,” Hayden called out his name hesitantly, feeling desperate.
If she had Noah Beckham’s custody, she would not hesitate to take Noah and leave the Beckham family. They would then get back to the United States and never returned to this sad place again.
But she knew that if she did this now, all her hard work would be ruined at once. Joseph would do anything if he got pissed off. She couldn’t risk Noah.
She closed her eyes, with tears running down her cheeks, and carried Stella away.
A hoarse voice sounded from behind her suddenly, “Mommy.”
The boy’s voice seemed hoarse, probably because of not speaking for a long time, but it was full of grievances.
As if he was begging Hayden to stay.
Her tears rushed down, and she went back to the bedside.
Noah held her sleeves with tears filled in his eyes.
Hayden was heartbroken, looking into Noah’s eyes and holding back her tears, “Noah, listen to mommy. Mommy will be back to take you away, but it’s not a good timing now. If I take you away now, your father won’t agree with it. Then I’ll never see you again. So you have to be good and trust mommy, okay? Mommy won’t leave you again.”
Six years ago, she was afraid of the one who took away her innocence and forced her to give birth to the children knew Stella’s existence. So she ran away to the United States and endured the guilt and grief for six years long. Her son, whom she never knew, was always a knot in her stomach. And this was the reason she couldn’t let go of this city.
Now that she had found him, how could she easily give up?
She must take Noah with her even she made a clean break with Joseph.
The little hand on her sleeves finally loosened. Noah sniffed and turned over, burying himself in the quilt. There was sobbing coming from the quilt, and Hayden was anguished.
She dared not to stay any longer and left in a hurry with Stella in her arms.
It was a late night, and the Beckham’s mansion was located in a remote area. It was hard to get a taxi, so Hayden carried Stella and walked on the road. The sky was heavily overcast, and it seemed to rain very soon.
Stella’s voice sounded on her back, “Mommy, Noah seems very sad. Why are we leaving?”
“Because this is not our home.”
“Did mommy break up with Joseph.”
“Yes.”
This was the first time Hayden confronted her emotional problems in front of her daughter.
She used to think that her daughter was still young and didn’t talk to her about these matters. But she could tell that the kid was even more sensible than she thought.
Nobody told the kids that the Sanchez family wanted to marry into the Beckham family, but they had figured it out.
“Will Stella be sad if mommy break up with Joseph?”
“A little bit.”
Stella was lying on Hayden’s back and sighed, “I’m sad because of mommy being unhappy too. If I knew that Joseph would make mommy sad, I won’t want you to be together with him.”
“Is that so?”
Hayden gave a wry smile, not knowing whether to be relieved or hard.
Stella suddenly called her after walking along the road for a while, “Mommy!”

“How about you get back together with daddy. Although daddy is always not home, he buys you a lot of things when he comes back, and he is also very nice to me too.”
Hayden frowned and was silent for a moment after hearing this, “Stella, you’ve grown up now. Mommy wants to tell you something. But before this, you have to trust mommy that I will always love you no matter what happens.”
“What’s it?”
“Do you still remember that mommy told you that you have a twin brother?”
Stella was speechless.
