Chapter 3199
Chapter 3199
Serenity pretended she could not see the battle between the two happening in front of her.
She smiled. "If that's the case, I'll order a bottle of whiskey then. I can't drink right now for the sake of my baby and Zachary doesn't drink much in the first place, so I can only get Dylan to drink with you. "Dylan, be a good sport. You guys can drink however much you like. You don't have to worry if you get drunk, Zachary and I are around." She even winked at Imogen.
Imogen secretly gave her an 'OK' gesture in return. Serenity was relieved. Imogen's tolerance would not be bad. She recalled Imogen wanting to ask Dylan what he really wanted, and worried that Imogen would get drunk. Since her guest said it would be fine, Serenity was not going to supervise them.
Once the dishes and the bottle of whiskey were served, Imogen poured Dylan a glass of whiskey.
"Here, Mr. Dylan. Let's toast."
Instead of clinking glasses with her, he took her glass and placed it on the table before saying, "Ms. Doyle, it's easy to get drunk if you drink on an empty stomach. Whiskey is a hard liquor. You might find it delicious when you drink it, but it's quite strong and will make you drunk without realizing it. Eat a little and have some soup before starting on the whiskey."
As he said this, Dylan gestured for the butler to serve Imogen a bowl of soup. "Have some soup first."
Imogen did not like soup and rarely had it at home, but since it was Dylan's suggestion, she accepted it politely. She thanked him and began to drink from it with her spoon.
After taking two spoonfuls, she said, "Ms. Hunt, this is really good. I rarely drink soup, but I find this delicious."
"You should have more, then. It's a habit of ours to have soup as an appetizer for every meal."
It was hard to change dietary habits. Imogen was not a Wiltspoonian and naturally had different habits than they did, so the soup had to be really good if even she thought it was delicious. "How old are you, Ms. Doyle?" Serenity asked after helping Sonny with his napkin.
"We were born in the same year. My birthday is at the end of the year though-I'm younger than you are by a few months."
"You just call me Serenity
from
Con. Don't call me Ms. Hunt
anymore. I think we were destined to
meet I feel like I should have met
you earlier."
Imogen laughed. "Alright, Serenity. You should stop calling me Ms. Doyle, too. Everyone just calls me Imogen or Jen."
Dylan looked at Zachary, who was focused on serving Serenity and Sonny and was unbothered about him and the ladies' conversation. Dylan felt helpless.
Zachary was such a doting husband that he let Serenity have her way in everything. Luckily, Serenity was not the type to let it go to her head.Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
After a few more minutes of chatting idly with Imogen, Serenity let Dylan have the stage once more.
She focused on eating and sneakily urged Sonny to eat faster too. While taking care of his beloved wife and nephew, Zachary filled his stomach too. The three of them quickly finished eating as if they were in an eating competition.
Dylan had only just eaten a few mouthfuls and some of his soup when Zachary and Serenity placed their utensils down and said they were full.
"I'm going downstairs to take a walk,
Dylan. Zachary will be with me. Be a
good host to Ms. Doyle in mea
płace,
and take your time. We'll be back
later."
If Imogen got drunk, Serenity would send her back to her room.
Otherwise, she looked forward to having a good chat.
Serenity had invited Dylan for dinner to give Imogen the chance to ask him to his face what he really wanted.
"Take your time, Jen. We're heading downstairs for a walk."
