Chapter 209
Chapter 209
Cordelia got home to find Amanda roasting a turkey.
Janice whispered to Cordelia, "Ronan's mom has been making turkey for ages, but Ronan just won't
bite. If he won't eat, she'll just keep cooking."
Cordelia thought to herself, "Ronan, you were really breaking Amanda's heart." Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
Cordelia decided to pitch in and help with the turkey roasting. She intentionally roasted the turkey till it
was a bit burnt. It was quite obvious.
Ronan came down from upstairs and saw Cordelia roasting the turkey. "Do you know how to roast a
turkey too?" He asked.
"Yeah, I didn't have the time last time. Thought I'd give it a shot this time, wouldn't want to let you
down." Cordelia replied.
Ronan didn't say anything and sat down on the couch to read. Once the turkey was ready, Cordelia
served it up, got some cutlery, and sat next to Ronan. "Give it a try." Cordelia cut a piece of turkey to
feed Ronan.
Ronan took a glance and said, "I'm not eating that one."
"Not eating this one?" Cordelia was confused.
Cordelia switched to the slightly charred turkey she roasted. Ronan took it and ate. Finally, Ronan ate
the turkey, but he only ate the one Cordelia made.
Amanda was watching from the side. Seeing Ronan only eat the turkey Cordelia made, she quietly
walked to the kitchen, wiping her tears.
"Why won't you eat it?" Cordelia asked Ronan. She felt sympathy for Amanda. It was not cool to treat
one’s own mom like this.
"I've been eating, haven't I?" He responded.
"But you didn't eat the one your mom made." Cordelia was a bit pissed.
Cordelia only fed Ronan the turkey she made. She cut a piece, and he ate a piece. In the end, all that
was left on the plate was the turkey Amanda made.
Cordelia thought: "If Amanda saw this, she would be heartbroken." So she ate all the remaining turkey
herself.
When she brought the plate back to the kitchen, Cordelia cheerfully said to Amanda, "Your turkey was
delicious. Ronan and I finished all of it."
"Good girl, Ronan is lucky to have you." Amanda gently stroked Cordelia's head.
Cordelia wanted to make Amanda happy. If she spilled the beans, it would be too heartless. She
smiled. She thought Amanda made a good point.
Before leaving for home, Olen had already started contacting a university in Millstone. He was now at
school and not at home.
"Ronan, you're hurting your mom's feelings. After all, they're your parents." Cordelia told Ronan after
going upstairs. “Can't you consider your parents for a change? They've been through a lot, which is a
normal reaction for anyone. They're back with you, and the family is together again. Can't you forgive
them?" Cordelia advised him like a loving mother.
"We'll discuss it later." Ronan said and picked up his book.
When Cordelia called his name, it seemed to stir something in him. As Cordelia walked past Ronan, he
suddenly grabbed her hand, pushed her onto the bed, and began kissing her.
