Chapter 210
Chapter 210
At breakfast the next morning, Ronan unusually served Amanda some food. Although his attitude was
very resolute, and it was also for Cordelia to see. Amanda was very happy, and she even glanced at
Cordelia intentionally.
Cordelia was pretty stoked too. On their way to work, she chuckled and said to Ronan, "You're quite the
obedient one, aren't you?"
"Show some respect, will ya?" Ronan retorted.
Cordelia didn't express it, but she was over the moon inside. After all, Ronan had taken her advice.
Once they got to the office, Cordelia received a Messenger message from Shelley: [Cordelia, has your
brother been in touch with you lately?]
[Not really, he doesn't contact me often.]
[I've been feeling uneasy lately, like something's gonna happen.]
Hearing her mom say this, Cordelia also started to feel a bit nervous but thought rationally, how bad
could things get? Everything was improving.
[Mom, don't stress too much. What could possibly go wrong?] Cordelia reassured her. NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
[As long as you and Ronan are together, that's what makes me happiest. As for your brother and
Kendra, that's out of my hands. By the way, when can I go visit Ronan's parents? They're here and I
haven't met them yet.]
Cordelia pondered for a moment, [I'll ask Ronan.]
She sent a message to Ronan: [Ronan, my mom wants to visit us and meet your parents, when's a
good time?]
[Anytime.]
Cordelia replied to Shelley: [Mom, Ronan said any time is good, depends on your schedule.]
[How about this Saturday afternoon? Is that okay?]
[Sure.]
A few days passed casually, and aside from Olen stirring occasionally in his sleep, there were no
surprises.
Soon it was Saturday. Shelley came that day.
Olen and Amanda took this meeting very seriously, since they were quite happy with Cordelia. Right up
until Shelley's arrival, Olen was asking Amanda if his suit was appropriate.
"Looks great," Amanda replied. She felt that Ronan's attitude towards them had been changing, and
life seemed to be getting better and better. She was relieved.
And Ronan's grandfather had once said that Shelley was a woman with the right values.
When Shelley arrived, Amanda was the first to come out of the room. Ronan and his grandfather were
sitting on the couch, while Cordelia and Janice were arranging some fruits.
Olen came out and saw Shelley sitting on the couch. Shelley was chatting with Amanda. Suddenly
Olen's lips quivered, and he looked as if he was cursed. "Shayla, Shayla..." he suddenly started acting
weird, running around the house frantically, babbling, "Shayla's here, Shayla's here."
Shelley was uneasy; her arrival had triggered Olen's episode. Cordelia had once told her that Olen had
serious mental health issues, and he had been getting treatment in Canada. After leaving his previous
environment, his condition had improved a lot. He was teaching at a university, just like any other
person.
Cordelia was also feeling uneasy, and she gently squeezed Ronan's hand. Ronan, frowning,
approached Olen. "Shayla's long gone. It's not her."
"It is her. She took everything from me, pushed me from heaven into hell. It's her!" Olen cowered in the
corner, trembling.
Amanda gently patted Shelley's hand, "I'm sorry. He's had some major trauma in the past. Normally,
he's a really nice person."
Amanda got up and went over to Olen.
"She's not Shayla. Ronan already said it that Shayla's already gone." Amanda crouched in front of
Olen, speaking to him gently.
Ronan couldn't stand to see Olen like this; it was the same state he was in when he fled abroad.
"Really? She's really not?" Olen asked Amanda.
"She's Della's mom, our in-law."
Just as Olen started to calm down a bit, there was a frantic knock at the door.
"Mr. Evans, open up, open up." a woman's voice urgently called from outside.
