Chapter 2106 Digging His Own Grave

Apart from reading through some of the documents, Cindy didn't make much progress for the whole

morning.

When lunchtime rolled around, she did not dine at the company cafeteria and instead took a taxi home

without further delay.

She found Ian and Aurora sitting on the couch while watching television when she got home. She

wasn't sure if anything was amusing about the show, but the both of them were making remarks and

laughing about it.

Cindy changed into slippers and padded over to them. "Well, things must have been pretty settled if the

both of you look so happy."

Ian looked up at her and reached out a hand to pull her over to the couch. She sat down next to him

and laced her fingers through his.

Aurora was the first to explain, "No, nothing's settled yet, but the man came over again today. Don't

worry, we weren't so obliging this time and we refused to open the door for him. We called security and

had them throw him out of the neighborhood, though that didn't stop him from kicking up a fuss down

there."

Cindy was somewhat astonished to hear this. She had already found it surprising enough to see both

Ian and Aurora so composed even after the man had shown up to stir up a ruckus.

As such, she continued to ask, "What happened after that? Something else must have happened if the

both of you are so calm now!"

Ian reached up to pinch her cheek lovingly. "Nothing else happened. It's just that when the guy was

thrown out of the neighborhood, he spilled his true intentions while kicking up a fuss."

The ruckus had been loud enough to garner the attention of passers-by, who then proceeded to film the

man. It would only be a matter of time before the video of him circulated online.

Cindy paused in thought before asking, "When did this happen? There's nothing online just yet."

As she said this, she pulled out her phone and scrolled through the news.

Ian let go of her hand and said soothingly, "It was only a while ago, so I don't think you'd see it on the

news that quickly." He eyed her curiously and pointed out, "Did you not run into him on your way back?

You came home just minutes after he caused a scene."

She hadn't run into the man at all, and even if she were in a rush to get home, she would have still paid

attention to the people nearby and whatever was going on in her surroundings. If she had walked past

the man, she would have surely noticed him.

She shook her head. "No, I didn't see him at all. He was thrown out of the neighborhood, right?"

"I guess. The security guards came up and sent him off."

Cindy tried to imagine the scene and let out a sigh of relief. "Well, that's good news. That's probably the

best we can ask for. If he gets thrown out and kicks up a fuss, the agency won't have to do anything at

all to clear our names. We definitely look like the less-guilty party." Having said this, she suddenly

remembered something and added, "Wait, why aren't you guys having lunch right now? Why are you

guys watching television instead?"

Aurora leaned into the couch and stretched lazily. "That idiot of a man completely ruined my schedule,

so I didn't have time to make lunch. Ian ordered takeout not too long ago, and we ordered your share

as well since we figured you'd be back around noon."

Cindy's worries dissipated when she heard this, and she sat in a lotus position on the couch. "You

know, it's such a shame that I didn't get to run into the guy. Perhaps I would've seen him if I had come

back earlier—I would have liked to see how he was acting."

Ian and Aurora had not left the apartment since morning, so they didn't get to see how the man

behaved either, though they were sure he must have been quite a nuisance.

The security guards from the neighborhood tried to throw him out last evening, but they had been the

ones to dismiss the guards first. When the man showed up again today and tried to sneak into the

compound, the guards grew furious. Ian and Aurora had gazed down from their window up in the

building, and they could make out the commotion as the security guards unceremoniously heaved the

man out.

Cindy pulled out her phone again and searched for news related to Ian in earnest. If she wanted to

know any fascinating developments, she was going to have to scroll through the internet like any other Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

person, though she had first-hand information before this.

Yet, the news had been published online before their takeout even arrived. It took her all but a brief

search to pull up the latest news on Ian. She chuckled as she read the headline and beckoned for Ian

and Aurora to take a look at it as well. "Hey, you guys might want to see this. The man's video is

circulating online. I haven't clicked into the footage just yet, but the caption is interesting enough, don't

you think?"
