Chapter 2107 The Final Nail in the Coffin

The thumbnail of the video showed that the man was stomping his foot while pointing angrily at the

upper floors of the building, and he appeared to be saying something as well.

It wasn't until after Ian and Aurora had leaned forward to peer at her screen that Cindy clicked into the

footage. As soon as she hit play, the man's voice came out loud and clear. As expected, he had layered

on the threats as he gestured wildly at the apartment, shouting belligerently about how he would not

rest until they gave him the fifty million he asked for. Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

It was hard to tell if the man had no control over what he was saying or if he had only spilled such

details in a fit of rage, but either way, he merely embarrassed himself in front of a crowd who had

gathered to watch his tantrum.

The man was stomping his foot angrily, and he was turning crimson as he continued to threaten

Aurora. He claimed that he would release more dirt about Ian this time if she did not comply with his

request for fifty million. He also promised that the dirt would crush Ian's reputation into dust.

After that, he called Ian a scrooge who could not bear to part with a mere fifty million.

As the video continued to play, it became clear that the man's vocabulary was limited to threats despite

prattling on senselessly. At the peak of his rage, he started to spill what he deemed were dirty secrets

that could apparently ruin Aurora.

However, what he said next made Cindy believe he was a natural comic. He accused Aurora of being a

terrible cook, and he had tolerated her abhorrent culinary skills—or the lack thereof—throughout their

entire relationship. He also said that she was just as stingy as Ian and that she never contributed to the

family.

He quickly followed these 'dirty secrets' with the scintillating tidbit where she had dumped him because

she wanted to resume her career in the entertainment industry. He even claimed that Aurora felt he

was only going to get in her way.

Toward the end, Cindy gave up on watching the video altogether. After all, she didn't want to poison her

ears with such nonsense.

Ian had started out looking somber as he watched the video, but he eventually cracked up as he

pointed out, "Now that I look at it, this guy is pretty adorable."

Aurora couldn't help jesting as well, "This is the first time I've seen such an adorable side of him!"

He had all the wicked intentions, but he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, and his lack of intelligence

simply did not match up to his villainous intentions. One had to sympathize with him for having such

dedication in pulling off an evil scheme only to humiliate himself in the end.

The takeout was delivered by the time they finished watching the video, and Cindy was the one who

went to the door to retrieve the food.

Judging by the number of paper bags, she could only assume that Ian had bought quite a spread. It

seemed as if both he and Aurora had regained their appetites, though in all fairness, they hardly ate

breakfast this morning.

They promptly set the food on the table. While opening the takeout containers, Aurora chuckled as she

mused, "I do wonder how he would feel about himself after he sees the video making rounds on the

internet."

Ian replied in amusement, "He'd probably think of himself as really adorable."

Aurora and Cindy laughed at this remark.

The three of them talked while they dug into the food. Before long, Hannah called.

Ian answered the call and put it on speaker. On the other line, Hannah asked if he had seen the online

news, and one could hear the laughter in her voice.

Ian said that he had, and she replied with a bemused sigh, "I guess that means we won't have to come

out with a statement anymore. This is practically the final nail in the coffin for him."

That much was true.

After that, Hannah told Ian that the next time he encountered something like this, he ought to call the

police to have them handle it. People like that ought to be thrown into a holding cell for a few days

before they learned their lesson, and speaking sense to them was a futile effort. If they had no

intelligence to carry out wicked schemes, they might not appeal to logic and civility either. As such, they

would only keep coming as long as no one tried to physically restrain them or put them in their places.

Ian hummed in response. "Okay, I got it. If he ever shows up around here, I'm sure the guards will call

the police on him."

This put Hannah's mind at ease, and she told him that he could drop by the set in the evening if he had

the time.

Indeed, there was still plenty of work on the set that needed attending to, and Ian should try to have as

many scenes filmed as possible.

At the thought of this, he agreed and said that he ought to get whatever work he had lined up for him

over and done with.

The call didn't last long, and they each hung up after they were done going over work details. Ian kept

his phone and turned to look at Cindy before saying, "I'll be going over to the set tonight, so you and

my mom can room in together while I'm gone."

He thought it was safer for the two women to stick together instead of having Aurora return to her own

apartment. No one knew if the man had truly left her alone just yet, or if he was merely planning to

ambush her by loitering around the building.

Cindy hummed and said, "Got it. Now, don't worry about us and take care of yourself while you're on

the set."
