Chapter 234 He did Nothing Wrong
Chapter 234 He did Nothing Wrong
Victoria felt better from the small talk she had with Maggie.
Maximilian looked around. He noticed everyone around wore plain clothes. Some of them came from
suburban area. They must be friends in the neighborhood nearby.
Tommy and Alfie walked toward them. They were looking for Maggie and tried to bring her back to the
banquet hall. What’s more, they wanted to humiliate Maximilian and Victoria again.
Tommy arrived first. He squinted at Maximilian and slapped him on the shoulder.
“Loser, what are you looking at? Look at you! You are like a countryman. You make us lose face. Why
would grandpa have you, a loser, as his grandson-in-law? Victoria, how senseless you are to marry a
man like him!”
Alfie then arrived, too. He said rudely, “It is lucky for you to be able to sit on the table, isn’t it? But I
believe sitting inside the hog lot to eat leftover suits you the most.”
Maggie frowned and said, “You two just go too far. You have been rude enough to Maximilian. Are you
trying to humiliate him to death?”
Alfie looked at Maggie disdainfully, “Are you insane after reading so many books? Why would you
defend a loser? A loser like him was born to be taunted.”
“Your conclusion is very precise. A loser’s existence is of no value except for being sneered at. His
meaning of living is to be mocked by us for fun. Am I right, Sister Victoria? I believe you keep him for
the same reason, aren’t you? Ah ha ha!” said Tommy while slapping Maximilian heavily on the
shoulder. Maximilian clenched his teeth without saying a word, bearing the pain in silence.
Victoria was so angry that she clenched her teeth and asked furiously, “What do you want? To what
extent do you intend to bully him?”
“Bully? Don’t you feel ashamed for saying that? Victoria, you used to pretend to be a decent girl and we
were fine with it. But now that you have married a loser, what the heck are you pretending for? I have
heard that you have slept with other men for contracts.”
“You are talking nonsense.” Victoria’s eyes filled with tears. Maggie held Victoria’s arm and glared at
Alfie.
Maximilian’s eyes became reddish. He was okay for being insulted in whatever way. But he absolutely
can't watch Victoria being taunted and did nothing.
Furious, Maximilian ran to Alfie and slapped him on the face.
The clear and loud slapping sound silences the outdoor hall instantly. Everyone was looking at
Maximilian and Alfie with surprise.
Few people in the hall knew Maximilian, but most of them knew Alfie. Seeing Alfie be slapped,
everyone gasped.
“Who is he? How dare he hit the second son of Hugo’s first son? He is bold though.”
“Is he the enemy of the Wright family who came for revenge? It has never been heard that the Wright
family has enemies. There must be a scene to see in Hugo’s birthday party.”

on. It was almost the same as Hugo’s face was hit on.”
After a while, the clamour in the outdoor hall grew louder. Spectators became more and more excited in
discussing what was happening.
Alfie was astounded for a second, then he felt that his slapped face hurt extremely. Humiliation and
anger suddenly burst out inside him.
“How dare a loser like you hit me?” Alfie scowled at Maximilian and pointed at him with great strength.
“You ask for it. You have insulted Victoria. If you dare do it again, I dare slap you again.” Maximilian
said with icy tone.”
“Fuck! I swear I will beat you to death today. Otherwise I am not a member of the Wright family”
Alfie’s was only thinking about revenge now. He looked around for anything to hit Maximilian.
Tommy saw what happened and immediately stopped Alfie, “Alfie, let’s go back first. We should let
elder uncle deal with this.
Alfie didn’t find the things he wanted; what’s more, he thought what Tommy said made sense; so he
pointed at Maximilian with great strength, “Waite for me here! I will teach you a lesson later. You are a
dead man today.”
Alfie turned around and left. Tommy scowled at Maximilian and said after Alfie, “You loser! If you sneak
away, then you are a coward. Stay here and wait for me to settle a score with you…”
“I am waiting for you.” Maximilian laughed scornfully and went back to his seat and sat down.
Both Victoria and Maggie sighed after they realized what had happened.
“Maximilian. You are impetuous. There is no need to tangle with them. I afraid this might cause…”
Victoria rubbed her forehead and can’t finish her words.
They might confront consequences, such as being scolded, insulted, forced to apologize or even being
expelled. These were all possible.
Maximilian said seriously, “Don’t be afraid. I will deal with it myself.”
Maggie looked at Maximilian speechlessly. She didn’t know why Maximilian suddenly became so bold.
He hit Hugo’s second grandson at his 70th birthday party. What Maximilian did just went beyond
Maggie’s imagination.
“Maximilian, don’t try to be a hero. I knew you did it for Victoria’s sake. But the way you did this is just
too violent, which is not a right way. You will push Victoria into a much more difficult situation.”
Maggie can’t help blaming Maximilian. She knew he did this with well-meant attempt, but she just felt it
was not right.
“If you want Victoria to encounter less trouble, ran to apologize to Alfie. Otherwise, Victoria will be in a
dilemma when things get worse. After all, Alfie was the second grandson in the Wright family.”
Maximilian chuckled mildly and said nothing. To apologize to Alfie would be impossible.
Seeing Maximilian ignored her, Maggie pouted unhappily and held Victoria’s arm and said, “Victoria,
you don’t want to get into more trouble later, do you? The best solution is to make him apologize. You’d
better convince him.”
“You can’t just act for his benefit instead of yours. If elder uncle gets angry, there will be serious
consequences. He loves to make a big deal out of unimportant things.”
Maggie persuaded Victoria earnestly. She didn’t want to see their conflict worsened.
If it did get worse, the party today may be ruined.
Victoria shook her head and answered, “Maggie. Thank you for your suggestion. But Maximilian didn’t
do anything wrong. How can I make him apologize? If we did something wrong, we would admit it. But
we didn’t, so why to say sorry? The only wrong thing he did is being too impetuous.”
Victoria didn’t think Maximilian was wrong. If anyone else had been humiliated by Alfie like that, he
would have already hit Alfie.
